Since literally being the last man standing and winning his gold medal in the 2002 Winter Olympics ‘Doing a Bradbury’ has become embedded in Australian culture. To us, it means being there at the end, being rewarded for effort, commitment and self-belief. With Steven as a co-founder of our business and our beer and the values and lessons shared by the Prosser family, Last Man Standing was the perfect name for our first brew.
From finding the courage to establish a brewing business, to brewing a beer to be truly proud of, we know that creating great things takes time. We have taken years to create Last Man Standing Perfectly Paced Australian Lager and are now proud to share it with all adult Australians. At LMS Brewing, we know it takes courage, belief and determination perfectly paced over time to achieve your goals and be the Last Man Standing.
Everybody who has ever heard Aesop’s fable, knows the premise behind the two characters that appear on the Last Man Standing logo. The tortoise knew that ‘slow and steady wins the race’ and so took his time to claim victory in the race with the hare, who instead chose to charge out of the gates towards his goal. Last Man Standing Australian Lager and the brand are the culmination of years of patient planning, consideration and testing, giving us something we are truly proud to share with all adult Australians.
If you look carefully at the Last Man Standing logo, you will notice a subtle iconography, comprising of the Greek Omega symbol and a horseshoe.
The Omega represents ‘the last’. The last letter of the Greek alphabet, in English and western culture it is widely used to represent the last, best or ‘final’ nature of something. Intertwined with the Omega is a horseshoe, as a simple acknowledgement that to achieve your goals, or to be the Last Man Standing whatever your challenge may be, always takes a hint of good luck.
